Last night I tried to connect to fireplay on my WHS by using the standard homeserver address xxxxx.homeserver.com/fireplay and could not access it.

Then I tried 192.168.1.100/fireplay and was able to access it with no issue.

Today I cannot access it from work but I can access my home server, see all my shares and everything seems fine.

The homeserver connection does seem real slow in accessing it.

Any thoughts? (I am not able to access my remote console from work, it immediately times out.)

It looks like your router isnt forwarding port 9999 to your server. If you take fireplay out of the equation and just try to connect to firefly by using http://my.homeserver.com:9999 it fails (and this is how fireplay connects). Can you check your routers forwarding 9999 ok?

Reboot of the router and reboot of the server at lunch fixed that. Thanks for your help, I would be lost without fireplay at work ;)
