Hello again Nigel,

Can you tell I'm on a quest this morning to update all of my Add-Ins? :)

I have WHS PHP v1.01 installed currently - does it make sense to update to v1.04 or once installed is the PHP version the same?

Thanks & kind regards,
-=Glyn=-

The changelog in the first post lists what is new in each version. The php version will be the same, I'd only upgrade if you're having issues with your installation.

We kept at this version of PHP because it was the most stable with WHS at the time. Things may have changed since I last looked and I'll go for a code review soon to see if we can benefit from upgrading this and MySql but as Alex says. If its not broke, don't fix it.

My thoughts exactly!

I don't really understand PHP anyway and it seemed to install correctly and the test page displayed so I'm going to leave it well alone.

Until a new version of PHP is ready that is!

Thanks & kind regards,

I'm not a genius at WHS by any means, so I could be asking a newbie question here.

When installing WHS PHP Installer 1.04, it says:

Another PHP.INI has been found on this system, please remove or rename before attempting to install this Add-In to ensure there are no compatibility issues.

Now I did a search for php.ini and there was a Marvell php.ini and not knowing what this acutally does, I didn't want to delete it, so I renamed it julie.ini. I did another search and it did not find anything.

I then ran the installer again but received the same warning message. I am not sure what to do next and please let me know if you need any other information. I'm using an ASUS system.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How are you searching?

Try from a command prompt on the server DIR c:\PHP.INI /s

Thanks Cougar, I was using the Advanced Admin Console search and using the command prompt I found another one.

One was in C:\Program Files\Marvell\61xx\php and the other in C:\Windows, I have changed the name on both and sucessfully installed WHS PHP Installer.

My question now is, do I need to change the two .ini files back to their original names or can they stay as they are or should be deleted?

I put the check in as people often run php without knowing it; I'm really surprised to see PHP in with your mavell drivers and dont see why it would. Personally I woud leave the php files the way you have them now.

I'm trying to setup Ampache to run on my WHS.
I've installed the PHP and MySQL add-ins, and they seem to work great.
The only issue seems to be that Ampache is looking for PHP version 5.3.1 or newer, and the PHP add-in is 5.2.6.
Is there an easy way to update the php version?

You would need to download a version from http://windows.php.net/download/ and run the install from a Remote Desktop. Due to various issues bringing all the pieces together to make a stable version on 5.3 I haven't had an Add-In I am happy to release (yet).

I have just installed the PHP Add-In on my WHS system.

The test.php file seems to run fine, but when i try and execute another PHP file, i get the 'page cannot be found' error.

Upon checking the error.log file, this is what it states.

[27-Jan-2011 18:22:01] PHP Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'RuntimeException' with message 'cUrl Extension is not available.' in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\ProwlConnector.class.php:101
Stack trace:
#0 C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\example.php(15): ProwlConnector->__construct()
#1 {main}
thrown in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\ProwlConnector.class.php on line 101

This error is repeated for each time I try and run the PHP

I know the PHP works as I have loaded it to a normal web server and it runs fine, i wanted to host it locally.

Any ideas please why this is not working ?

Many thanks.

Steve

You must enabled the cUrl extension, here's one guide:
