Hello,
I know this is somewhat off topic but how do you setup php to send mail using my gmail.com account?

Thanks,

Hello all,

Can any one help me with this issue.
I recently update the whs addin php 1.2 to whs addin 1.4 but i already have installed the whs addin mysql 0.8. after i do this update i can't access my page https://windowshomeserver.com/pma or http://windowshomeserver.com/pma from inside of the network or outside my network. After i put the user name and the correct password i receive the following error "PHP has encountered an Access Violation at 02642BEB" i already re-install the whs addin mysql and the whs addin php1.4 but without success.

But if i install the version 1.2 of whs addin php is working fine.

Best regards

The access violation is caused by libmysql.dll, rename c:\program files\mysql\bin\libmysql.dll

sorry; anything you like. There is basically a conflict between 2 versions you have, so removing the one from mysql seems to clear these.

Thanks again Cougar

But i don't understand your last post, do you are say if i have 2 files like "libmysql.dll" on the same directory c:\program files\mysql\bin\, is to deleted one of this files? Or you're saying if i have two different installations like whs addin php installer 1.2 and whs addin php installer 1.4 on different locations.

Because I already check in the directory c:\program files\mysql\bin\ and only have one file with name "libmysql.dll"

Best regards

Rename that file to anything you like.

You'll find one in c:\php5 and one in c:\program files\mysql\bin, either delete or rename the one from c:\program files\mysql\bin (you may need to restart after)

Cougar--

Dumb question for you. What are the advantages of installing PHP using your installer versus using the Microsoft Web Installer tool referenced here?

http://www.microsoft.com/web/platform/phponwindows.aspx

Just curious as to what the differences would be. It looks like you can download MySQL as well using this MS tool.

Unless I'm mistaken that tool is for Server 2008 only, and it includes a Microsoft SQL driver, not a full blown MySQL installer.

I've used it to put sqlserverexpress 2008 and gallery 2.3.1 on my ex475 worked like a charm. As I compose this, I am installing php7.5, Wordpress, mysql, sqlserverexpress and asp.net onto my xp sp3 laptop that I use as a sandbox. I would be willing to document using it to install on my MSS as I redo it for the 3.0 update if you think it might add value.

I suspect the many bug reports filed to get it to work have paid off. I haven't tried in a while but just installed it under Vail and it works fine. If you'd like to document your experience please share it; that would be great!

Thanks,

Jim
