Yes you can start a new Poll on this if you want; and we can see where it goes. I'd never noticed the issue personally as I usually just go random.

In answer to your other question I missed... multiple users can create their own playlists.

Thanks for this add-in. It's just want my fiance was looking for so she can access all of our music from work.

I've run into a problem though that I can't seem to fix. I had everything working up until I added a music password. I had music streaming via my custom domain name and locally, but after adding a music password I've run into a few problems.

1.) No matter what I do, the Music Password is always turned back on and enabled. If I disable it via domain:9999/config.html it appears the changes were made successfully. But after re-booting the server, the password is enabled again. If I disable it via RDP and opening the Firefly Configuration app, the password is enabled again after a server restart. Interestingly, If I disable the password on either of the above methods, the change is not reflected in the other method. Basically, if I disable the password using the web access method (config.html), the password still shows as being enabled when I access the firefly configuration app via RDP. It appears that no matter what I do, I can not remove the music password from firefly.

2.) This is most likely related to #1 but it's worth mentioning. I can access the configuration page by using the Admin login and password just fine. However, once logged into the admin account I can only access the configuration page. I can not access the firefly music streaming page. If I try to access the music streaming page I get the following error:

Not found
Error 404 mt-daapd: svn-1601
Error: The system cannot find the file specified.

If I try to access the music streaming page and click cancel when the password pop-up appears, I get the following error:

Unauthorized
Error 401 mt-daapd: svn-1601

If I try entering my music password on the password popup page it never works. It's just an endless loop until I click cancel and I get the error shown above.

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Sounds like there is something wrong with your config file "mt-daapd.conf", you will find it in C:\Program Files\Firefly Media Server on the server.

Usually if this isn't present, you will see an error (in yellow) on the config page, do you see that?

I've updated to 0.90.06 (see first post for details, and file for download). I was supposed to do this a while back and got distracted by SanEncore. Thanks again to Alex for the FireFly service :mss:

Hey Nigel - hope all is well.

I decided to give this add in a try. I installed without a problem. When I access the page (i.e http://MYSERVER/fireplay) I get to the FirePlay screen, but none of my music shows. It says at the top of the screen "Connecting to http://MYSERVER:9999" but that is it (I am assuming the add in assigned port 9999 to fireplay). Any thoughts, did I possibly miss a step, I simply installed the add in, did not touch my router settings or anything else.

Did you try forwarding the port manually just in case? Or check that FireFly is enabled (iTunes Server if you have an HP MSS)?

I read on the changelog that now a health alert will be generated if FireFly is not found, but don't know if that also means if it checks whether it is enabled or not.

Well, just checked my WHS console and it shows my Itunes Server as disabled. I go into the setting and click enable and apply, no problems. Still shows as disabled on the WHS console though, and when I go back into settings the ITunes Server is put back to disabled. I assume this is the problem, WHS is not allowing me to enable the Itunes Server?

Probably easier to first make sure the Firefly and Bonjour services are started... also rdp onto the server and try http://servername:9999

Just RDP'd in. When I open the Firefly configuration and go to the server tab it tells me "The Firefly Media Server is currently not running". When I click the "Start Server" button I get a message "Failed to start FireFly Media Server". I also don't see Bonjour anywhere. So it appears that Firefly does not want to start (never used it before)

Try deleting the songs3.db from C:\Program Files\Firefly Media Server and try starting the service again.

Errors in the Event Viewer on the server, or in the Firefly.log in Program Files\Firefly?

Firefly.log has not been written to since 1/16/09. I will try to pull up the event viewer now

Also, still no Bonjour service showing up in my Processes.

Isn't Bonjour related to iTunes? Back when I was testing out my AppleTV I had iTunes installed on my MSS but ended up installing it later on, could this have caused a problem?

You need to have the Bonjour Service (shows up as mdnsresponder.exe in task manager), its a key component of firefly
