Hello all,

How are other folks who are running diskeeper, not PerfectDisk, defragmenting thier HDD?

Is it safe to run the auto-defrag on all volumes in the background? Or should one lean to the safe side and only defragment certain volumes?

Please advise with feedback if you use the application as well as any success or horror stories.

I run PerfectDisk. That's where it's at.

Hi,

It is safe to run Diskeeper in the automatic defragmentation mode on all volumes. It was designed to work safely in the background.

For VSS enabled WHS volumes, it's advisable to use the VSS compatibility defrag mode of Diskeeper 2008 Home Server.

Hope this helps.

Best regards

Hi tbone7467,
Thanks for the interest.
It looks like the forum software does not allow me to post urls; so please visit the Diskeeper website for more information on Diskeeper Home Server features. You can also download the free 30-day trial versions from the site. More information about defrag can be found in the White Papers section of tour website or on the Diskeeper blog.

Best regards

I use Diskeeper and have since they brought out the WHS edition. I have had no problems at all with the product it runs great. I did try perfect disk and was not as a happy, that is why I bought the diskeeper over perfectdisk.
