Maybe a new thread/forum for CutePDF Writer would be appropriate????

What for? It was just a mention of an alternate PDF Writer while waiting for Digital Archound to release theirs. The utility is so small, I doubt it's worthy of its own thread.

Compared to some of the off-topic offenses I see in other threads, this is VERY small by comparison.

Only a suggestion... (It seemed to me this might get a lot of interest!)

My apologies John. Perhaps I took it in the wrong way. I think it's late enough now that I'm going to have your favorite brew and have a Guiness.

As for the topic on Digital Archound, as we were. To get us back on track, I think some of us are still waiting for Digital Archound to release a 64-bit version and their retail release of the Desktop version.

If the folks from DA can provide a current update, that would be nice.

Last I heard from one of the Archound people is that the client version was already done just some beta testing was taken place...that was about a month ago.
The website says it will be ready by Q4 of this year

Also, I know we are all limited on time, but maybe a more detailed review of the software?

Looks like 64 bit support is here.

Thanks for letting us know.

/ rant on

I must say that Archound's website reads like a "mom and pop" shop. I hope they consider re-designing it. While I want to invest in their product (more specifically the desktop version), their website leaves me an impression that the product was developed by a single person in their garage. And with the long delays in the product release, it makes me wonder if they're going to be around in the long term.

It doesn't help that they advertise that the retail release of the desktop version is available and clicking on the download link brings me to a request to join their beta/release candidate program. Not polished at all.

/rant off

Agreed Richard, that is the reason why I did not continue with their software after the trial period.

Good morning.

I have a Mac and am using Neat Receipts. I also have a MSS. I was wondering... is there any way to use the Neat Receipt scanner to scan items into ArcHound server version?

Thanks.

Hello..

I think I read though all 4 pages and no one mentioned Sharepoint as their document management system...

I have it installed on my Mediasmart and I am currently using a standard all in one scanner/copier to scan in my originals and upload them into sharepoint. In sharepoint you can define folders or add descriptive column (I have company, year, etc...). It is even (if you allow it to be) accessible from the internet.

Has this already been discussed and shot down as a good practice of document mangement?

Thanks!

rgoolsby: Welcome to the world of WHS/MSS!

While Sharepoint has not been mentioned in this thread before, there are a number of threads around here that mention it, at least two with it in the topic title! Search on it and select to display only the topics and you will find those very quickly. (One is spelled Sjarepoint" but the search finds it from the content!)

Why it has not been mentioned here I really do not know. Thanks for bringing it up!

Search is your best friend as Alex likes to say!
