Keep in mind the system, application, and securoty event logs are NOT deleted when the server reboots. ANd it's fairly easy to find the exact time of a restart - look in the SYSTEM log for events from "eventlog". When the server restarts there will be an entry that says "event log started on <some date and time>". Also, unless it got turned off somehow, if the restart was dirty, ie the server crashed and did not do a clean restart, there will be an event that says teh previous shutdown was unexpected as well as an entry referencing the fault reason if there was one. Do you REALLY need that info emailed to you? I can see it if you have a server far away in some co-location site, but with it sittign right there, with simpel RDP access.... And if you really want to get fancy, after restarting it, save the logs and then clear them, so the only thing in the active logs will be whatever happens from that moment forward. Save the old logs before clearign them, in case there's something in there you might neeed to look at.

This new add-in works together with Yakuza's remote Notification add-in to cover all of the bases.

Any chance you can post a readme or some more information about what the add-in does? There's zero information either on the web site or even in the zip file that contains the MSI. I'm reluctant to install a MSI absent at least some detailed info on what it does.

Any info appreciated.

It keeps a log of any remote connections to your MMS.

It will also send you a notification through Alex's Remote Notification that someone is connected to you MMS.

It's built by the same team who built Grid Junction.

Nice Add-In. Seems to work just fine.

I am using the Remote Notification Add-In 1.0.0.47. In the General Settings what does the "Send Suppressed Notifications" check box mean? Should it be checked?

Thanks!!

In the WHS console, you can select a checkbox on a notification that says "Do not notify me of this error anymore" or something to that effect. Remote Notification can forward those notifications even if you have previously asked to not be notified.

Alex;

Thank you for your reply to my question. I am not familar in WHS Console where the checkbox is that says "Do not notify me of this error anymore" or something to that effect. Can you please tell me where to find it so I can see if it is checked?

Thanks very much for your help!

It's on each individual notification, when you see your system health change, for example "Antivirus is not running on PC1", you should have a checkbox on that notification saying "Ignore this". When you check that box, the notification is considered suppressed.

Hello all,

Excellent add-in, however it doesn't work on my system. I receive a send failed error about not being able to read data from the transport stream. I also receive an error trying to using Dave Mercer's Event Viewer add-in. Mail settings are correct as they are copied directly from a working Outlook account. Here is a screenie of the error. Any help would be apprecieated.

Thanks,
Andy
