Sorry, should have said that some US customers were getting shipping notices, probably the first few that ordered.

I finally got a shipment notice at 6:30 p.m.

Yakusa I think I am going to put a fan in front of my EX470 when my 3.0 arrives hoping it will help until you are able to release the MSS Fan Control Add-in that will work with 3.0 and pre 3.0 systems.

All I know is HP sent me and email stating my discs were shipped 3/19 so I expect them by 3/26 and would like to install the 3.0 the following weekend.

I'm pleased to announce that MSS Fan Control 1.0.0.9 has been released with support for both HP 1.3 and 3.0 software on the EX47x servers. 8) I've updated the first post in this topic with the full details, or see the blog post.

And a number of us have successfully tested this. Worked fine for me.

I do NOT have v3.0 installed, btw.

Thanks for the updated add-in. Installed it on my EX475 3.0 server and seems to be working great so far.

Works fine for both my EX470. Got the 3.0 today and will install it but I caught some messages about the discs being labeled wrong so I have to take a look at that.

HP has indicated that they are aware of the problem, have reported it to the duplication company, and will be fixing the problem for additional production runs.

I'm a big fan of being green and saving some $$ at the same time. This sounds like another great addin to my Ex470 collection. Many thanks to Alex and the entire WHS community for their relentless efforts and innovated ways to make this product fun to own!

Since I'm such a NOOB, would someone care to advise on what would be the ideal #s to target for?
My Current reading are as follow:
Fans and Temperatures: Upper Fan ~1454rpm, Lower Fan ~1442rpm, CPU ~31-32c
Voltages: VCCP ~0.992v, 5V ~4.945v, 12V ~12.032v, 1.8V ~1.84v, AUX ~5.08, 3.3V ~3.328v

Are those #s acceptable or taking the Optimized defaults setting from MSS Fan is a better option?

Post subject:  Re: MSS Fan Control Add-In

Thanks for the feedback! Your CPU temp is fine, I'd probably not change anything, unless you'd like to slow down the fans a little to see if it reduces the noise of the server. You could try turning the Fan Speed Adjustment down to -100 or -200, see how that sounds and if your CPU temp changes. The reality is this won't make your server any greener or save energy, it's more designed to speed up the fans for extra cooling when people run the server in a warm location or upgrade the processor.

Thanks for the suggestion! If the fan operates at a slower rpm and maintaining the same level of coolness to the cpu, wouldn't that use less energy and in turn saving me $$$? just a wishful thought :)

Sure, and it might add up to a penny or two a month. :) Those fans use little power and you'd only be reducing the power consumption a tiny amount, I doubt it would be detectable on a power consumption measuring device.

Post subject:  Re: MSS Fan Control Add-In

Those are not related to MSS Fan Control, they are exceptions that are sometimes seen in the 3.0 software. A server reboot normally resolves them.
