Hi All!

I have had an HP ex495 for a few years now and was trying to stream movies to my WD Live off and on with limited success. I am still using WHS v1.

I finally got around to adding movies and trying to use my media server.

I have been using Any DVD for years, mostly making direct copies of DVDs along with Clone DVD.

I had read about using AnyDVD and My Movies in conjunction as Add-ins and set that up last night. I have read that in WHS 2011 you can add multiple dvd drives and rip from multiple discs at once.

Does anyone know if this is also possible with WHS v1? I intend to try out using one drive tonight, but would surely save a great deal of time if I could plug 2-3 in and have them all ripping at once. Is there any type of additional add-in or settings I would need to use multiple drives?

Also, how do I actually get my movies to add metadata to my movies? I don't see the WD listed as one of the devices but when I select the get data (forget what actually says) button it says information has been updated, but don't see anything changed. Do I need to use the my movie collection software as well? Do I run that on my win7 laptop first or install it just like my movies? I will try their forum as well. Didn't see anything in their wikis about it.

Thanks for all that you folks do!!

Jason

the collection software is needed to add/edit/delete titles and to set the metadata you desire for the mediaplayer you use .
I am not sure about the wd but it does have more options that the whs add-in.
MYmovies for whs will try it's best to supply some info but you need to also install the collection management software on your desktop.
When you install it elect the client option.
When you install it connect to the server where your movies are at.
Then under options -metadata select what you want and then select the update button.
it will add the metadata to your movie folders.

I have seen it is possible to do multi rips with Anydvd if you have multi drives, but have also seen problems doing so (crashing). There must be something software wise that does BATCH or Multi ripping really well, off to google :-k
