I am considering installing WHS StableBit Scanner on my v1.0 server that I built using a variety of old IDE disks of varying capacities and one SATA drive. My question is, will I really gain anything from installing the latest version or not? The version that I'd be installing is version 1.0.4.2590 RELEASE. This is a concern to me as the box that I'm using is my main production server. Also, the approximate cost of a license is AUD $25.00. The cost for a license for Lights-Out was a little less and it's proven to be a great add-in. So, some advice please from some people who have used Stablebit Scanner would be greatly appreciated.

You can download the latest version and run it on a trial bases to evaluate it. Then you can determine if its right for you. I did run it for a while and it does some interesting things and as such can only best be determined if its useful or not by the person using it. Its not the fastest program out there but scanning can be very time consuming anyway.

So by all means install it, run the trial and then determine if the software is of any bennifit to you.
