I desperately need more server storage. I think I'm down to <40GB free.

I have been using the WD green drives and have been happy with them. The 1TB and 2TB seem to be pretty easy to find, but the 1.5TB, which seems to be the sweet spot now as far as pricing, seems to be gone from a lot of the stores I've been looking at. Anyone know if these have been discontinued?

Thanks!
Aaron

One of the only places I can find is Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Western-Digital-W ... 529&sr=8-1

They have not been discontinued. I believe there is simply a lot of demand for the "sweet spot" at the moment.

Newegg, where I bought mine, pulled it off their site (very odd). If out of stock I would think they would just say that.

Thanks for the replies guy, and the link to Amazon.

I saw the drive listed as OOS on newegg 1-2 days ago, but yeah, now its totally gone. Got me a little worried there for a sec.

The Seagate 1.5TB LP drives are available on Newegg for $114.99 w/ free shipping. I have 4 of these running in Andromeda and they run 5deg F or so cooler than the 2TB WD Green drives.

Here is a link to the Seagate 1.5TB LP drives:

As much as I want to bite on the 2TB drives it is hard to justify when the 1.5TB LP drives are so much more cheaper

I am tempted to try the Seagate 1.5TB LP since it is about $15 less then the WD. Would make for a good comparison against the 8 WD GP drives I already have
