erail did you go from 512 to 2gb to 4gb or straight to 4?

I am wondering because the board talks about the leap to 2gb being great but no one talks about the leap to 4gb. The only thing really that is meantioned is that they did it.

is there improvement? does it address the full 4gb as 32bit os's usually dont. I heard there was a reg edit talked about on this site so that it will did you try this also? just wondering if I should take me server all apart for an extra 2gb jump

This is the tread:

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1648&hilit=ram&start=15

and a link to microsoft article. I would love to know if anyone did this and how it worked for them and if they have had any issues at all after this.

T-bone, I went from 512kb to 2 gig running an LE-1640 for months. When I upgraded from the 1640 to the 3800 EE SFF, I also went to 4 gig memory because I was doing a lot with the server including home automation.

Edit: best usage I have seen so far has been around 2.5 gigs. Was it really necessary, I'm not sure but I was running the macafee AV at the time and with that it really needed some help. I have since discarded it and have standardized with Avast, seems to have less overhead than others. Last time I checked memory usage was running a little less than 2 gigs, so you can probably get by without 4 gigs. The system seems to recognized 3.50 gigs as available for use without patches in the performance section of task manager.
