Just for fun, I tried to install Small Business Server 2008 on my :mss: but during installation, it said it needed 4 gigs of memory. Since the :mss: only has 1 ram slot, a 4 gig strip is needed. I haven't bought the 4 gig ram so I can't say that SBS 2008 installed.

I would love if anyone knows the exact model of the memory that works (4gb) with ex470. I know the G.Skill one works, but does any OCZ or kingston works. if so please provide a weblink to the item.

Thank you so much!

I don't know of any reason that any 667mhz DDR2 RAM wouldn't work...

was a large number of bios/board upgrades/flashes required or was it a simple swap out of the cpu... can i assume by default the board doesnt support that processor and some fiddling was required?

thanks :P

My guess is the BE-2300 is the safest bet but if you can find it the 35 watt 3800+ EE SFF is in my opinion the best solution at this time.

was there much bios/board flashing/updating required for this, or is it a simple swap out? :P

No, this is not a simple swap out, you have to read the instructions for modifying the bios in the forum and proceed from there. It's not difficult but requires attention to detail and care.

There is a function called Search on this site, which I would have to use to find the post to give to you. You might learn a lot more if you did the search and some reading.

There is NO bios update! You have to hack your own bios....
