Hello,

I've had an ex495 "brick" for a while now (OS failed) and I've only just recently decided to give it a go for rebuild.

I was successful in going through the Factory Reset process, from what I can tell - there were no fail errors.

Used a direct cable link from laptop to server, wireless disabled and safe mode/network.

After the restore was completed, I moved the server to my network and it boots to a blinking white light (my understanding it does this during initial setup) but, when running the client connect software, my PC is not able to see the server.

Ideas? Thank you

How did you attach the server to the network? Switch or router? Sounds like a router problem or maybe a dead port.
I would shut everything down and bring the router up first then the server and other pc's and see if it all is happier.

Once it gets to the pulsing (ready to install the connector) your pc you are using should not have the connector or hp update on it.

Good Luck and let us know how it's going.

Yep, I would still use the direct connect till it is complete.
Now it will bark back that it does not have internet access for updates.
But once you have the first pc connected, which is where you will be prompted for the server name and master password. The pulsing leds should stop.
Then when you connect it back to the network it will retry to update, and there are a couple of big ones.
One of which may break the server connector app, you will need to re-install it on the pc.

We are assuming that you used a new 1-2 TB main (bottom bay) drive to try to bring this back to life and not the old one that caused it to die.... Bad drives can make recoveries interesting at best.
Good luck
