So, I just read and article that talked about falling cost of SSD drivers. I know there has been a ton of talk in the past if it can work and how big and how to install. What I am wondering at this point is how its worked out for the end user. those that have had their SSD drive in either WHS v1 or V2 and if it was worth it and do you see any benifit?

I don't believe its worth the cost yet because despite falling prices, the average large sized SSD is 512GB where most users here have 1TB-3TB drives in each slot. So the max you might get would be 2TB where I can easily get that on 1 drive at a fraction of the cost. Also, the MSS is still consumer grade in terms of the Motherboard and everything else, meaning that the majority are only saving media and consumption files on their drive that don't need to be constantly accessed and changed. SSD really shines when you are editing a Photoshop file, a Final Cut movie or accessing and launching/ending applications left and right where the data is constantly accessed and changed. Once you've launched your movie and it begins streaming, SSD or not, there won't be much of a difference.

Now will things over all be smoother with an SSD drive, it sure will be but for a server, I don't believe the costs merit it. For your personal computer like a notebook, yes, its time to upgrade your internal drive.
