Yakuza, Diehard, Mach1,

I thankify you muchly!

Got Windows Security Essentials Beta installed. Awesome!

- Wiki is missing Diehard's description how to open Remote Desktop (step 4).

- How do I remove/uninstall McAfee nagware??? (I did not install it, but my Windows Home Server Icon in my client tray continues to tell me I need to install McAfee.)

- How do I confirm Windows Security Essentials Beta is actually running? (It installed perfectly, so I am just being anal.)

This little MSS box is starting to captivate me. I like it!

Step 4 of the Wiki article has a link to another Wiki article on how to use Remote Desktop. 8)

Move the TopWHSaddin.msi Add-In out of the \\servername\software\Add-Ins directory (I recommend rather than delete it that you store it in a "Disabled Add-Ins" folder in case you want it down the road), otherwise go the HP settings tab and turn off Add-In notifications.

To see if WSE is running, look for it in the system tray on the Server via Remote Desktop.

Unfortunatley, the MSSE Beta does not have an "add-in", so you cannot monitor it from the WHS Console. You have to peek in on it via remote desktop. I hope that they will develop an add-in for MSSE as some point in the future.

There are a couple a ways to verify the addin is running or if you want to make adjustments.

You can use the Advanced Admin Console addin to display the desktop and check it from there. Or you can use the Program Launcher addin Like I am and add it to the list of programs in the menu, then run it from there.
