My Movies, the popular Video Management Add In for Windows Media Center, has just released their Add-in for Windows Home Server 2011.

My Movies for Windows Home Server 2011 overall contains the same functionality as My Movies for Windows Home Server, but where My Movies for Windows Home Server shares components with My Movies 3, My Movies for Windows Home Server 2011 shares components with My Movies 4, which is currently also in Pre Release. This also means that My Movies for Windows Home Server 2011 contains monitoring functions for TV Series as included in My Movies 4, which My Movies for Windows Home Server does not.

For further information on how to set up/install, as well as the download link, be sure to check out the documentation here. I just set up Windows Home Server 2011 a few weeks ago to test out, so when I have some free time I will test out this Add in as well. It is hard to commit a lot of time to using since WHS 2011 is only an RC right now and there are still limitations for me to even consider using WHS 2011, but it is worth testing out to help the MyMovies developers flush out any potential issues.

Wonder if they’re abandoning support for WHS v1?

They won’t be abandoning support. At some point new features will probably only be added to WHS 2011.

Hopefully, at least TV support will come to WHS v1.

Damian do you know if MM3 or 4 is compatible with XBMC as far as the scraper and metadata?

What Nick said below

Also, if you have 2500 points you can actually use My Movies as your scraper in XBMC (as opposed to TMDB)

I have been running the pre-release of MM4 for about 3 weeks now. So far, it is pretty good. I am also running the MM for WHS… but not this new version. As long as the database on the WHS is the correct version, there shouldnt be any issues. Actually, I very rarely use the WHS add-in for MM… except to back-up the database and stop the service every now and then.

Both MM3 and MM4 is compatible with XBMC… both versions will create correct NFO files and download covers/fanart and name them correctly to ensure your XBMC scrape mirrors your MM database.
