Forum moderator “comp1962″ let us know that Tiger Direct has copies of Windows Home Server v1 for $79.99, which is $20 off of what I’ve seen as the usual street price. This is one of their “Black Friday” deals but is available today. There’s no end date specified so if you’ve been wanting to build your own server this is a good time to purchase the software.

Alex, thanks for the post. I saw the ad yesterday. Have you heard anything about a pending release for Vail and what a price will be. I have been testing Vail since day one with good results. It is much faster on my test server than WHS. For example it will back up one of my computers in minutes versus over an hour with WHS. I am interested in this speed to save backup times on large home computers. I will probably buy Vail if the price is reasonable.

Thanks for your response in advance.
