Hey Derek,

Are you just trying to change the view from something like list to coverflow?

If so depending what view you are in move all the way to the left or to the top, the view menu should appear

Another great release guys, thanks much faster now.
one quick question, shift 8 used to change the view but now brings up a play menu. Does anyone know how you change the view now?

lol. I got on this whole trueHD vs. flac kick because I saw a trueHD icon on one of your screen shots – at least I thought I did, because I sure can’t find it anymore. doh.

My movie with the 48.0 Khz, 6 Channels, TrueHD does have an AC3 icon. But I guess that could be because I also have the AC3 track.

I get no icon in Media Browser for my 48.0 Khz, 6 Channels, True HD. I get AC3 for my 640 6 Channels, AC3 (TrueHD). Don’t know if a TrueHD icon ever shows, I feel like I have seen it before, will have to dig around.

Yeah, the Wiki I wrote was several versions removed from the current Clown_BD version

Media Info says: 48.0 Khz, 6 Channels, True HD

The version of clonw_bd (0.75) I am using does not select the core by default. The screen is different than your screen shots from your clown_bd review. Looks like it has been cleaned up a bit. Now you can select the AC-3 track, The True HD track and the TrueHD core track – all in the main selection window (not the check boxes underneath).

Regards to playback, perhaps I should be selecting the core as well, just in case. I guess bottom line, I am going to have to do some testing when I get my receiver.

I just remoted in to take a closer look and I think I see what the issue is. When Clown_BD grabs the TrueHD track it also grabs the core. So if you look at media info for this track you will see something like “640 AC3 (TrueHD)”. My guess is MediaBrowser is simply picking up the AC3 part even though TrueHD is the track.

As far as playback, I think it depends on what software is being used for audio playback. For instance, with my HTPCs I use FFDShow for Audio and I believe with that it passes through the core regardless. Since I am not set up to bitstream yet not sure if you get true bitstream what would happen in the scenario you point out.

Cool, I just tried that and it now shows up as track one. Thanks. However, Media Browser still show just AC-3. Weird. Does anything else need to be done (in metabrowser or media browser)? I tried restarting media browser.

Question about setting default audio tracks: do you need to do it, or will the receiver pick up the ‘best quality’ track it can play?

Also do you know what will happen in the cases where: I have a TrueHD mkv, my receiver and video card do TrueHD, but due to the technological ‘things’ that are causing issues with bitstreaming right now, the TrueHD track doesn’t work or has issues.

Will the AC-3 track automatically play? Can you pick the AC-3 within media browser? I just don’t want to be in a situation where there are issues playing the true hd track, but I have no way to play the AC-3 track. Does this make sense?

Hey Darren,

In MKVMerge is the AC3 track above the TrueHD track? I think this is what determines track 1 from track 2 (the flag you set determines the default track). I always keep the HD audio track above the AC3 track, shouldn’t matter because of the flag but can’t hurt.
