Welcome to my new family member

I’m very proud to announce the birth of my second son, Zachary Darbie Kuretz. He was born on Friday July 24th at 11:40 AM, weighed 6 lbs 12 ounces, and was 20 1/4 inches long. It was an incredibly fast delivery, only 20 minutes after we arrived at the hospital, so very exciting and action packed. Both my wife and the new baby are doing very well, and 3.5 year old Jackson is very excited to have a little brother. And yes, I can finally get rid of this mustache now that the new baby is here. :)

Update: Added a picture of post-mustache removal. The story on the mustache – this started with our first child, I figured since my wife was growing something uncomfortable, so would I. :) This time I started earlier, and it got way bigger and was a pain to eat, etc. I’m glad it’s gone!

Congrats, Alex! So, have you set Zachary up with an e-mail account yet?

And why not grow a beard to compliment the ’stache?

Glad to hear all doing well…!

Thank you all for the well-wishes! I’ve updated the blog post with a post-mustache picture as well as the back story on why I was growing it.

Without the mustache I kinda see John McEnroe meets Kevin Spacey

Congratulations, Alex. Heh, my first son was born the same way, less than 20 minutes after arriving at the hospital. The doctor on call arrived just in time to play “catch the baby”. Sure beats waiting around!

Well I get your blog via RSS on my Google Reader… sorry for the late reply, Alex. Guess I need to check my “Reader” more often. :)

I wondered why I was seeing a few less post form you lately :) .

Congradulations on the new little guy! Gald the baby and wife are doing great!!!

We are starting our “western” trip in the coach pretty soon but at this point it looks like the folks we know from FC are going to meet us in Yellowstone… There is some chance we will make it to FC, but its unlikely at this point since we will travel into Yellowston from Devel’s Tower and then south to the Tetons and even further south to Mesa Verda. From SW Colorado we will be headed further south in late Setember to avoid the snow!!! All of that means we won’t come very close to FC and since the coach gets 8 mpg we are trying to reduce mileage. If we do get close I will see if you guys are up for lunch or somehting on the Hayles’ family.

You may still have your hands full with Zacahary even by late August when we will be in Colorado anyway. :)

Again, Gini and I are happy for your guys.
George
